I did it!
Another one of Kinnell’s favorite expressions is, “I did it!” He says it with such complete self-satisfaction, and with perfect diction. Every time he finishes a puzzle or otherwise does something he’s proud of, he says, “I did it!” It actually doesn’t even have to be his own accomplishment, because today he was sitting on his seatbelt and very uncomfortable until I helped untangle him and get him settled and he looked up at me, smiled, and said, “I did it!”
Also I can’t believe I forgot to mention that the schoolbus tent from Grandma has been a big hit with both boys, and they love when mommy and daddy crawl inside too. But sometimes I think Raimi’s imagination might be a little too vivid, because his favorite thing to do is shake the tent like crazy and knock it sideways or upside down shouting, “Accident! Big accident!” The other day he did that, and then surveyed the scene. Very seriously, he kept repeating, “We’ve got a lot of dead bodies… a lot of dead bodies.”
