Couple moments not to forget

Raimi got a toy “for lamby” the other day. Afterwords he looked reflective and then said, “I should have gotten something for me, too.”

Yesterday for Teacher Appreciation Week, the PTA asked parents to have their child pick a flower from their yard and bring it to their teacher. I forgot until we were already in the car, which I said out loud. On his way into school, I got worried for a second when Raimi bent down to pick something up — we were already late. As he rose I saw he’d found a dandelion — fluffy with seeds — and was carefully carrying it inside for his teacher.

Also, Kinnell of course is always singing and dancing. Tonight for instance he needed to get his PJ’s on but told me, “WAIT! I have to finish!” And then danced around the room, singing a song from school, completely naked. Raimi & I gave each other, “wouldya get a loada this guy?” looks, which just made Kinnell laugh and dance more.

So the other day, he was playing his kazoo when he was supposed to be putting his shoes on. I’ll try to capture this — you have to understand he was playing “Old McDonald Had a Farm” on the kazoo. It sounded like this:

Dit dit dit duh, dit dit dah.
Dit dit, dit, dit, daaaaa.
Duh dit dit dit duh, dit dit HORSEY

Like, he took his kazoo out of his mouth to say “horsey.” Hard to capture in words but pretty freaking adorable in real life.

We still miss Kev/daddy an awful lot. Tonight on the phone Kinnell asked what airport he’s in, so sweet and innocent.

Oh! One more thing. The other day I was noticing how pretty our house looks and said, “I’ll miss this house.” and Raimi said, “Yeah, we should put a gravestone in the front yard, that says, ‘Well Loved House.’”

I AGREE.
